Finish the building work first
An active renovation creates fresh dust. Confirm the work is complete, surfaces have had the required drying time and building waste has an agreed disposal arrangement. Waste removal is not automatically included in a cleaning visit.
Photograph the rooms and residues. For a Marrakech riad, house or apartment, explain access constraints and how equipment can be brought inside.
Identify sensitive materials
New paint, timber, stone and tadelakt require different care. Share the manufacturer’s or installer’s instructions and ask for a discreet test with a compatible product. Avoid improvised scraping or acidic products on unidentified finishes.
Never mix cleaning products. Suspected hazardous dust or materials require specialist assessment; routine cleaning is not a decontamination service.
Agree the handover
Create a room-by-room list covering accessible surfaces, empty cupboards, bathrooms, floors and safely reachable windows. Define exclusions such as work at height, heavy rubble and marks that require another trade.
Walk through the completed work with the person responsible. Identify remaining residues before moving furniture back and confirm the scope if another visit is needed.
Frequently asked questions
Is ordinary cleaning enough after renovation?
Not always. Describe the dust, finishes and waste so the service can be scoped appropriately.
